Hanseatic Bank

The business activities of Hanseatic Bank covers the areas of lending, deposit and commission business and receivables management.

Established in 1969 as part payment bank to handle the extensive merchandise financing for customers of Otto Versand, it was converted into a full bank in 1976. In 2005, Société Générale took over as part of a long-term cooperation a 75 percent stake in Hanseatic Bank with the objective to expand the consumer credit business. 25 percent of the shares are still held by the Otto Group.

The Hanseatic Bank focuses on four core business areas. It offers its customers and partners individual financing solutions in the field of deposit-taking business, real estate financing, accounts receivable management and credit card services. An intensified customer orientation and the recognition of market requirements are decisive for the successful development of the company.
